For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: osprey in nest got up and is moving around as if checking on her eggs. Male is sitting nearby in marsh

Other Activity: male from NPT-03 flew up to the nest with the incubating NPT-05 female, and continued feeding itself there

Other Activity: one bird in nest; second bird down in grass feeding self; it flew up to the nest, perhaps delivered food, flew back down; what's interesting is that later it flew over to the NBPT-05 and seemed to continue feeding itself there

Other Activity: one bird incubating, second bird on post perch feeding self from an enormous fish

Observation Method: on foot

General Comments: this nest is not only huge, but it is 'way off to the side, so that the bulk of the nest where the female is incubating is over the rim (on the south side, I believe)
