Adult Osprey Activity Observed:
Other (specify below)
Location, Date & Time of Observation:
2021-04-03
02:45 PM to 04:00 PM
at: East Boston
Number of Adults Visible: 3
Number of Nestlings Visible:
Number of Fledglings Visible:
Weather Conditions: windy and about 45 F but clear
Other Activity: First observed one bird sitting on the camera tower alone. About 1/2 hour later, same bird was sitting on the nest when two other birds came in. One of the "new" birds flew down onto the marsh while the other perched beside the nest. She finally kicked this one off the nest too, and he flew down to harass the one on the ground. I don't know if this was courtship or rivalry, but later one of these two came back to the nest. The one on the nest was interested in this one, they tussled a bit (she lost her footing and fell off the nest at one point), then eventually flew off together.I didn't see the 3rd one again.
Observation Method: On foot
General Comments: this interaction surely must have been caught on the Osprey Cam - is it live yet?I got lots of photos - let me know if you'd like me to send you any.
