For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: one osprey perch and preening on perch pole. Other osprey at edge of nest looking down into it. I saw the tops of a couple of nestlings heads. Osprey flew off and up above Saugus Marsh and River. It apparently spooked a blue heron that I saw take off. All of a sudden the osprey had a fish in its talons....may have taken it from heron. It flew up to nest with the fish.

Other Activity: One OSPR perched on tower; 2nd OSPR feeding chicks; feeding OSPR intermittently flew away from nest; returned with a large branch which she dropped on the nest. ?? I was able to see 2 chicks at one point.

Other Activity: Both adults and 3 nestlings on the nest. One adult perched, the other feeding the young. One of the young opened it's wings and only went for feeding a couple of times. The other two ate continuously while we were there.

Other Activity: One adult 2 young on nest. Other adult perched on Little Aquavitae marker, moved to nest, then one adult left. The larger of the young did extensive flapping and achieved a few inches of elevation but did not leave the nest. Other young mostly inactive.

Other Activity: 2 osprey flying together above nest and river. Both came down and one went into nest and other on perch.

Other Activity: Only one adult was on the nest. The 3 chicks were exercising their wings. Lots of flapping going on! One of the chicks actually lifted off the nest a few inches a couple of time. Earlier either Ollie or Olivia was moving sticks around in the nest.

Weather Conditions: 74 degrees, sunny, wispy clouds, beautiful, breezy, in between low & high tide

Other Activity: 1 Osprey on nest perch, 1 Osprey on nest. (maybe a new mate for next season?) The 2 Ospreys flew off and landed on the marsh. There was 1 Osprey soaring around the nest area, when the 2 Ospreys were perched.

Observation Method: on foot Thank you to whoever mowed the trail to the marsh!
