Where are Osprey Nesting?

For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: one adult on perch post on side of platform. Can see at least one nestling....possibly another.

Other Activity: 3 nestlings sighted - have not seen them off of the nest yet but one nestling spread her wings - one adult was perched for some time and flying for some time - a second adult made a cameo appearance on the nest and flying around Choate Island.

Other Activity: One adult flying above and empty nest for a few minutes. Two fledglings and one adult on the moorings just at the edge of the marsh located in front of the nest. Later during the observation, one landed on the marsh perch, one landed on the nest perch, another on the nest rim and the last one was soaring above the nest

General Comments: All 5 were on the nest & it was pretty crowded. Ollie was feeding a chick and then he flew away. He came back in a few minutes with a fish and only stayed a minute. Then he flew, with the fish, to a nearby tree. Probably wanted this one all to himself!

Other Activity: We heard chirping & looked over to the nest. There were 3 osprey flying around & one that appeared to be an adult landed on the nest. Then a fledgling came back to the nest & hovered over the nest trying to figure out how to come in for a landing. Then another landed. Pretty sure there were at least 2 fledglings. It appeared that one chick was down in the nest.
