For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One osprey on nest perch looking into nest and one osprey on nearby marsh perch. Couldn't see the nestlings from where we were.

General Comments: The chicks are getting quite large and look ready to fledge. After the male returned, they went to the top of the nest and were highly visible, turning and lifting wings. There was a large flock (10 or so) of glossy ibis nearby. Some great egrets, as well.

Other Activity: The female was on the edge of the nest. The male brought a fish into the nest. We could only see one nestling clearly but I think there are 2!

Other Activity: For the past two days, the parents have been sitting on the marsh posts watching the chick. They have been bringing in food and letting the chick have the nest on his own.
