For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: No Osprey activity observed around the nest platform area. Observations made at the same time I was monitoring ESS-02.

Weather Conditions: 73 degrees, sunny, wispy clouds, low tide, breezy, a beautiful day!

Other Activity: Female Osprey perched on the edge of the nest, shading chick/s. Male flying overhead. All of a sudden, many, many flyers appeared - couldn't count them! The soaring male flew in to perch on the nest perch, at 10:15 AM and stayed there, being the look-out. The flyers moved on. During our visit, the female moved slightly around the perimeter of the nest, being "Mombrella." Lots of Baltimore Orioles, Egrets, gulls & swallows, Eastern Kingbirds and others birds flying around. Isabelle & I were excited to see a pair of Glossy Ibis wading in the marsh.

Other Activity: Crow perched on the nest. I scanned the marsh w/bins and only saw 2 Ospreys perched on posts, next to each other way off to the extreme left of the nest area.
