For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: 11:05 Female on nest with wings spread to shade chicks. She seems on alert, looking above her and at times ducking her head as if she might be attacked. I heard cawing (crows?) and lots of chirping (osprey). At 11:13 she flew off nest, came back in a minute and took off immediately. At that point the chicks started chirping quite loudly. She returned at 11:16 and stayed on nest.
