For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: 81F, 80%humid, 8MPH wind, low tide, sunny & clear

Other Activity: 4 OSPR visible on nest - all seemed to be adult size; one chick flexed & flapped its wings a lot, seeming to prep for take-off; a 2nd chick perched on edge of nest without much movement; a 3rd chick was largely below the edge and out of sight but occasionally stretched its wing; the adult OSPR worked on rearranging several large branches while intermittently eating something. It's a very crowded nest.

Other Activity: Female perched, chicks alternately perched and reclining. Male perched on nearby piling, left about midway during our visit, did not return yet. One chick stretched its wings as if for flying, but only briefly.
