For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Two adults and one nestling were perched. Later the fledgling flew in and perched as well. Later one of the adults flew off some distance and returned for no apparent reason.

Other Activity: Yesterday, Jake was banded. He is #74. This morning he is working with his father to learn how to fly. He is aerial for a short time and “jump” flying all over the nest. His father, Bob, is bringing in sticks. Jake is starting to rearrange sticks with his dad.

Other Activity: Both osprey sitting upright in nest. One flew down to marsh and returned with a stick in its talon to repair its nest. Then it flew down to its favorite perch stick in the marsh. Female continued to sitting to one side of the nest appearing to feed nestlings.

General Comments: on GE side of the Saugus River over my head 2 osprey were flying high in circles being chased by nesting terns & vocalizing loudly
