For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Other Activity: There were 3 birds on the nest and, although it was hard to tell, I think they were chicks. One of them was feeding himself. There was one perched in the tree nearby and it was likely Ollie or Olivia. The chicks are so big that it is often hard to tell them from mom & dad. They are flying all over the neighborhood now.

Other Activity: One OSPR was perched on the top of the tower over looking the nest while a fledgling was intermittently practicing lift-off but only managing to rise a few inches above the nest. The perched OSPR flew away after watching for at least 10 minutes

General Comments: Two very active and loud nestlings. One is flapping its wings in nest, not on edge.

Other Activity: one OSPR was perched on the nest when another one landed; then, one by one, they flew away for a few minutes before returning individually; then one flew away, leaving the 2nd one huddled down in the nest. I couldn't tell if they were adults or fledglings.
