For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: Surprisingly clear view across the marsh this morning. I was able to see 1 osprey perched at the nest.

Other Activity: The nest is so big now it's very hard to see the female. I watched for a while before she finally lifted her head a bit. The male, I assume, was perched on the post near the nest.

Other Activity: For most of the time just one osprey was on the nest incubating. A second then arrived and perched on the nest. The nest continues to have very little material on it, and most that is there seems to be hanging down.

Weather Conditions: 51 degrees, very light wind, cloudy with off and on light rain
Other Activity: When observed from Hellcat Dike, both osprey were perched on the nest. When observed from the platform on the Pines Trail, one osprey was perched at the edge of the nest, and 1 was down in the marsh. There is still very little material on the nest.
Observation Method: through the scope from Hellcat Dike, Bill Forward Blind and the platform at the Pines Trail.
