For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

General Comments: This bird seems to be house hunting. Hasn't been on site for 2 days since last sighting, and did not stay long today.

Weather Conditions: 42 degrees, cloudy, light SE

Other Activity: Female perched on nest platform. Male joined her and mated. Female is on nest most of the time but leaves to bring more nesting material. Male and female perch together for long periods. A large red-tailed hawk is perched in a nearby tree, but the ospreys are not showing any concern.

General Comments: A friend who lives about a mile north on Ferry Road has an active great horned owl nest in the woods behind them. The owls took over a red-tailed hawk nest that was active last year.

General Comments: Both Ollie & Olivia were on the nest and they were fixing it up with a new branch. They have been active in the neighborhood and hopefully settling in in spite of the construction equipment that National Grid has stored around the nest.

Other Activity: Osprey pair perched together on Platform 1 huddled close together for about an hour. Later on they mated and the male left shortly. While the female remained perched an immature balk eagle flew by and the female flew off, but returned in a short time
