For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Weather Conditions: Rainy in the morning and humid, cleared out in the afternoon and windy
Other Activity: The female was on the platform at 9. The male came in during the rainstorm and proceeded to rearrange sticks in the nest. They both flew off for several hours and are now back on the perches.

Other Activity: Female was on the nest perch at dawn. She periodically moves from nest perch to marsh perch. She spends most of her perch time on the marsh perch. The male showed up right after noon. They spent the afternoon on their respective marsh perches and taking an occasional flight around the marsh.

Weather Conditions: 66 degrees, mostly sunny, wind 9 mph
Other Activity: Bird 1 on nest with bird 2 perched nearby. Bird 2 flew to nest with fish. Both ate on nest. Possibly feeding offspring, but can't tell for certain. Both birds very attentive to nest. Bird 2 flew to nearby perch, after about 9 minutes. Bird 1 identified as female based on plumage. Female arranged some sticks, walked around and, eventually, settled back down onto nest.
