For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. General Comments: The lone bird was on branch below nest. Other flew close to me but didn’t stay and neither did I.

General Comments: Late yesterday afternoon I saw that Olivia was sitting down in the nest. I looked at the nest many, many times today and she is still down in the nest with only her head visible. Ollie has been coming and going. It looks like she in incubating. Like clockwork she started incubating on this date each of the last two years.

General Comments: While watching we saw activity on an unlisted marker. This one has been getting built up for some time and today a male was building it up some more. It is marker number 2 which just precedes the 3 that we observed above. May be the same male that has been trying to draw a mate and failing for a couple years.

Other Activity: Female Osprey perched on the nest. Shortly, the male flew in and landed on the nest, then flew down to the marsh perch. Male flew up to mate with the female on the nest and then landed down on the marsh grasses. Nest building has definitely taken place. Also, there is a piece of white plastic/material (man-made) hanging off the edge of the nest. Hoping for a positive outcome this season.
