For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: One adult OSPR arrived with a fresh catch and gave it to his mate. She immediately started eating and feeding the two nestlings. The mate remained perched on the nest during the feeding.

General Comments: At least two nestlings. I could not see if a 3rd was present.

Other Activity: Ollie and a visitor were flying around & then Olivia left the nest for a minute to help Ollie chase him away & went right back to the nest. I haven't seen the chicks since last week but Olivia is always on the nest. This new nest is deep so it isn't as easy to see little heads.

Other Activity: Active morning...male came in with seaweed and again with a big branch. They also mated again. The female is sitting in the nest when the activity began and finished. I did not realize they still copulated this late in the season while sitting on eggs...possibly eggs are not viable or the male was just feeling frisky.

Other Activity: One Osprey perched on the tree to the right, one osprey being busy in nest. Can't really tell because of the distance away. Another Osprey visited the area and the one perched on tree escorted him out of the area.

Other Activity: male on marsh perch then moved to nest perch, then down to side of nest. Noticed that over the last couple of days, the pair were looking into the nest and the female seems to be laying on the side of the nest, not in the center. I believe there may be hatchlings.
