Weather Conditions: Blue sky with no clouds; mostly calm but occasional breezes were very vigorous; 58℉. Later when leaving, temperature was about 53℉ and there was a steady, still vigorous wind.

Other Activity: At first the nest looked empty but a head popped above the rim several times & once the whole adult osprey got up, shook it's feathers & settled down again. There was no other movement on the nest, so it appeared to me that this osprey was warming or guarding either eggs or babies. Honking steadily, three Canada geese flew in & landed on the pond near the nest. Suddenly the other adult osprey (whom I had not seen) appeared & both adults flew in wide circles around the perimeter of the nest about 20-25 feet away. In only a few seconds, under a minute, the one on the nest returned there while the other flew around for a few minutes. The honking stopped but I could not see if the geese left the area. Finally the one circling went to the nest, checked out the other adult & disappeared. They did not exchange positions guarding the nest. The disappearing osprey returned to the nest briefly again, but left without exchanging places with the other.

Observation Method: On foot.

General Comments: A beautiful day, there was much other wildlife present. I spotted a large heron (bluish-gray), a swan, two ducks & four turtles. (Sounds like the twelve days of Christmas!)
