General Comments: Upon arrival observed one osprey moving about in the nest. At 1:25 PM second osprey arrived at the nest. At 1:26 PM a third osprey arrived at the nest and was immediately chased away by one of the ospreys. The challenge by the third osprey was very limited and it flew up to the top of an adjacent transmission tower and perched. The third osprey flew away at 1:30 PM. In the meantime the second osprey flew up on top of transmission tower above the nest and there it stayed perched. At 1:40 PM the second osprey left its perch and flew off towards the Kernwood Bridge.

General Comments: I met Greg, who lives on the water at the end of March St. He watches them all the time and said that he was 'blown away' when he saw one of them catch a cormorant in flight and bring it back to the osprey nest for dinner. I suggested he check out the Greenbelt web site and consider being an osprey monitor for this nest.
