For more than 15 years, Greenbelt has been dedicated to Osprey conservation through the construction and maintenance of nesting platforms, data collection, public education, and collaborative research efforts aimed at protecting this once endangered species. Volunteers submit their sightings online, and the most recent sightings are displayed in real-time.

Other Activity: O flying around. I flew from perch to nest then shortly flew out of sight. 4 blue herrings flew around and ended in water near overlook. The a pair flew far corner of the pond. The 5 flew by overlook to out of sight.

Observation Method: Wooden over looking the pond.

General Comments: Happy to see the brush cut back so the water is more easily seen. Thanks to the person that assisted in that activity.

Other Activity: Female is sitting deep in the nest and male is perched on a canoe rack in the marsh below the nest trying to stay out of the wind.

General Comments: This is the kind of cold NE storm that often kills osprey eggs.
