Update #14

Osprey Blog

All is well with Annie and Squam, despite some excitement which involved the same banded male Osprey from earlier in the season visiting the nest recently. I did not personally witness him or see photos, but I had numerous reports of three adult Osprey at the nest including the banded male. So apparently he has not settled down and found a female companion yet!

I was told there was some commotion when all three were at the nest and concern eggs might have been damaged. But I saw all three eggs intact in the nest today (see photo - third egg is hard to see but it is there), so that is good news.

There's not much new to report at the moment, as egg incubation continues around the clock. However, we've received an impressive number of nest reports — over 500! — submitted through our website, which is fantastic news. It means there are plenty of active nests across the region. Even better, all submitted reports will soon be available for everyone to view on our website. Stay tuned!
