Update #10

Osprey Blog

Obviously no eggs yet for Annie and Squam but it is just a matter of time. Last year the first egg was April 27, and I fully expect Annie to lay her first egg any day now - before the end of April is my prediction. The nest is looking great; well built up on the perimeter with a nice well lined nest cup in the middle. Annie looks ready to nestle into the nest cup on a clutch of eggs.

It still seems to me that the season is unfolding later than normal. There are still a handful of nests that were active in 2024 where Osprey have yet to be observed. I have to remind myself it is still April and I believe not all Osprey have made it back to the breeding grounds yet. In two weeks, we will have a much clearer picture of active nests around the region.

Thanks for the awesome photo Steve Pucci.
