Slow River Studio is bringing outdoor sketching back to our beautiful Greenbelt properties - and you don't need to know how to draw to join us.
You'll start with a lesson from one of their instructors, learning how to warm up your hand and eyes, spot compelling views, and translate what you actually see into marks on the page. Then comes the best part: you'll wander the property with your sketchbook, putting those skills to work while our instructor circulates with guidance and encouragement. Next, you will learn how to add color to your sketches with watercolor washes. By the end of the event, you'll have sketched real landscapes and discovered that you can do this.
This event is perfect for total beginners and anyone ready to experience the Greenbelt in a whole new way.
Please bring a folding camp chair, a sketchbook, a pen, and wear comfortable walking shoes.
