We will meet at 305 Whittier Rd, Haverhill
One of Haverhill's "Cultural Treasures", the Whittier Birthplace landscape, house and other buildings, are substantially the same as when poet John Greenleaf Whittier lived here between 1807-1836. This 69-acre site is home to the Freeman Memorial Trail which celebrates the work of Whittier. Let's Hike Haverhill has previously hosted the season finale celebration at the Birthplace.
While we can't promise the magical snowfall that 2025 offered, we can say you'll be amongst the first to see the results of the Whittier barn restoration project commencing in the spring of 2026. We'll offer a new hike route this year: a gentle 2-mile walk through a meadow and then into the woods towards Corliss Hill. After the hike, you can relax in the restored barn for complimentary snacks and hot cocoa.
Registration opens November 5, 2026, and will be managed by Team Haverhill. For questions about your registration or waitlist status, please contact Christine at hike@teamhaverhill.org.
