Art in the Barn celebrates its 30th anniversary this June with the annual transformation of the Cox Reservation into one of the North Shore’s foremost art shows.
As always, visitors can walk through the barns filled with paintings, ceramics, jewelry and more from 150 artists. But there are also a number of new events in the Art in the Barn program this year.
Those attending the kickoff party on Friday, June 7, at 5 pm may purchase food from the Melt Truck, whose menu includes chipotle chicken, BBQ pork and Cubano sandwiches. Ipswich Ale & Mill River Winery will offer drinks.
Saturday morning, June 8, will feature music from Paul Harty from 10am to 1pm. Harty plays folk, Celtic, blues, bluegrass, old Cajun, and country music.
For children, local author and scientist Bill Sargent will read from his book Lilly & Minot Go to the Beach on Saturday from 11 – 11:30 am. Sargent has written several children’s books in the “Lilly and Minot” series about a princess who falls in love with a bull and has humorous adventures in science and marine biology.
