Maintain trails by hand
Mowing
Cutting back
Clearing obstructions such as fallen limbs or trees
Note: When trimming trees, please
make sure you do not leave any sharp projections; trim branches
close to the main trunk, and cut stumps as close to the ground as
possible. Do not cut blazes on the trunks of trees, or use spray
paint to mark trails. Please report to the Stewardship Staff if
more extensive trail work is needed, such as relocation or erosion
control. Such projects often require design, and/or permitting.
If you would like assistance, Greenbelt's Stewardship staff will
help you to develop a seasonal work plan. |
