Property Description

The Elizabeth How Reservation consists of wooded mixed hardwood upland with relatively flat terrain. The main trail begins at Linebrook Road and has a short loop on the property but also connects into more trails that are part of the Willowdale State Forest, which abuts the Elizabeth How Reservation.

Special Features

The Elizabeth How Reservation is characterized by mature white pines, red oaks and other hardwoods. The boundaries are framed by old New England style stone walls and the trails are wide and easy for hiking. It is an excellent destination to bird watch for spring migrants as well as winter owls.

From intersection of Route 1 and Linebrook Road in Ipswich
Go west on Linebrook Road. Trailhead and parking are approximately 1.0 ahead on the left. Park on shoulder of road. Space for 1-2 cars.

From Route 95/Exit 53/Route 97S. Go south on Route 97 (toward Topsfield).  In 1.0 mile, turn left onto Linebrook Road.  Trailhead and parking are 1.6 miles ahead on the right.  Park on shoulder of road.

Space for 1-2 cars.
