While Greenbelt's stewardship work managing vegetation, including mowing, on our properties extended well into a warmer November last year, we were still able to make improvements on a number of properties to help our visitors.
Among the recent improvements:
At Nickerson Knoll in Wenham, a boardwalk was replaced with a new one to make crossing the wetland on the property easier.
A new parking area was build at Alt Reservation in Beverly. This spring, Greenbelt will build a new bridge at a stream crossing allowing water to flow on its natural course.
At Tompson Street Reservation in Gloucester, a new parking area was created at the Roberts Gateway allowing easier access to Sunset Mountain. This spring, new trail markings and junction markers will be placed on the trail.
We are also working on improvements at South Street Woodlots, Artichoke River Woods, Whittier Hill, Ewell Reservation and the Vineyard Hill Reservation.
